In the wide web of things that I talk about here, there's often more tha a few central points of crossover. The larger ones are all listed at the top of the Home Page, but other than when they happened to pop up in posts, those lesser central subject crossover points haven't had a home. So there wasn't a place you could click on to find them, if you needed to for whatever reason.
Until now...
This is where you'll find all of my lesser tags, the links to those smaller groupings of subject matters that seem appear regularly in my posts. Feel free to peruse them at your leisure. Or, if you think there's one that isn't listed here, let me know.

The entire reason for my starting this blog way back in August of 2023, is that I'm working on a book. It's not a world-changer or anything, just a fun adventure novel that I work on in my spare time. I posted about it, my influences and intent, and all that, as well as a sample of the first three chapters. But with the world falling apart outside all our windows, and the publishing industry having completely collapsed, I haven't bee working on my book as much as I'd like to in recent months, which is really frustrating, but I am still working on it, and I do plan on posting a few more excerpts here in the future too. It'll happen. When it does, you can find everything related to my Work-in-Progress here... WIP.

Combining my love of forts, hoarding, never going outside, and a general outlook that hell is other people, not to mention the whole apocalyptic aesthetic–I mean, the cool mix of goggles, jackets, and keffiyehs alone, come on–the Zombie genre is a long time favorite, especially when the stories involve a zombie apocalypse. My first attempt at a novel was a zombie apocalypse story. It was also told in the first person, obviously, some traditions must always remain, after all. I may post some excerpts from it on here someday. When I do, you will be able to find it, along with any zombie-related films or tv shows here... Zombies.

The idea of Eternal Life has always appealed to me. Walking through history and into the future sounds incredible. And while eating people seems... maybe not that great, especially if you can't eat anything else. No more fried chicken? Or noodles? Or fried rice? Or barbeque? Or soups? Or tacos? Or sandwiches? Or Bloody Marys? Or beer? Or dirty vodka martinis with extra olives? No more whisky? Okay, yeah, that does sound kind of awful. But I do like how some vampires specifically target pieces of shit, so that's something I could definitely get behind, as I'd not only be actively making the world a better place, I already have my Arya List ready. Plus, I'm a Night Owl who likes to sleep in, so obviously, the vampire genre is something I'm interested in and talk about quite a bit here. You can find anything related to bloodsucking creatures of the night here... Vampires.

Movies are huge part of my life. I obviously watch a lot of them. So, a year or so ago, I got a wild hair up my ass and decided to do a series of posts that fall under the same theme. The first series was all about listing the twenty films I personally find to be the most influencial on the things that I like, and also on the stories that I try to tell. It's a list of movies that I have watched dozens and dozens of times and absolutely love. If you're interested in seeing what those films might be, you'll find them all here... 20 Movies.

Obviously, I love comic books. I grew up on them. Between epic fantasies and Stephen King books, comics were all I read as a kid, and those monthly pamphlets have littered the long road of my life ever since. Every time I post about the latest and greatest comic book movie, I often go on and on at great length about who all of the characters are, their histories, and where they come from. I also make a list of my favorite comics each year. I've even posted about a couple of graphic novels. So, as this is maybe the least surprising tag on this page, you can find all of my comic book related posts here... Comic Books.

POV (Point of View) films are where the camera is being held by one of the characters for the majority of the film. They're sometimes also known as “Found Footage” films, which is when the footage that we're now watching was supposedly discovered some time after the people who filmed it are now dead or missing, most likely as a direct result of whatever it is that happens in the footage. POV films are popular for low budget filmmakers because the whole idea of the camera being an acknowledged part of the story means that they're generally cheaper and easier to make, but this also means that this can be a pretty unreliable genre, because if the most untalented hacks in the world want to make a movie, then all they need are a few friends, a camera, and a willingness to go tromp around in the woods. But on the other hand, they can be pretty fun too. There was a time, when I worked at the video store, where I watched every POV film that we had. There were so many, people. So many. You can find my POV movie related posts... Found Footage.

Christmas is a time for giving! At least, that's what all the advertisements on the TV tell me. I know everyone is totally aware of this by now, but it never ceases to amaze me that all of our big white Christian American holidays here in America, all of our most sacred of traditions, some of the "greatest" central touchstones of our entire cultre, were, almost to a one, created by some Department Store owner less than a hundred years ago. And speaking of the great Christmas traditions of white Christian Americans, December 24, 1865 is when a group of former Confederate soldiers first established the Ku Klux Klan. Merry Christmas! Anyway, the on-going list of my favorite holiday movies can all be found here... Traditional Christmas Movies.

I'm not ashamed to admit it... the Marvel Cinematic Universe, for good or for ill, for all its ups and downs and strikes and gutters, is one of my most favorite things ever. Obviously, this is due to the fact that not only am I long time comic book fan, but I was always more a Marvel fan than a DC fan. Don't get me wrong, I'll always love Batman and the Superfriends, but Captain America, Iron Man, Wolverine and the X-Men, all those four-color spandex-clad weirdos with their feet of clay, their myriad flaws, and their litany of daily agonies, have always been my favorite. And I honestly never expected any movie to ever get it right, and the idea of getting a TV show that was willing to spend the money to get it right was the kind of ridiculous flight of fancy was something that not even the most disconnected from reality type of nerds would entertain, and yet... they did it. They fucking did it. Missteps and homeruns and everything in between. They did it. And I love it. I love it with all my heart. You can find all of my MCU related responses here... The Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In October of 2024, I traveled to Trieste, Italy. A port city in the northeastern corner of Italy, it is a mix of Italian, Austro-Hungarian, and Slovenian influences sitting at the head of the Gulf of Trieste in the Adriatic Sea. Still known as the “City of Coffee,” it was once the end-point of the maritime leg of the storied trade route known as the Silk Road, and an important deep-water port owned by the House of Habsburg, an aristocratic family that was once as powerful as it was inbred. These days, Trieste is a nice little seaside city, and in October, there's a little genre film festival, which is why I went. You can find all of the reviews for the films that I saw there, as well as the ones that I didn't get a chance to see, gathered here... Trieste Science Fiction Film Festival.
And that's it, for now.
I'll update this page whenever I add a new tag.
